EDINBURG COMMON SCHOOL DISTRICT
Student & Parent Handbook
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Extracurricular activities help our students develop a good attitude and build character that will help them throughout their adult life. We ask parents/guardians to reinforce good behavior.
1. All students must pass a physical exam conducted by a physician before they participate in a sport.
2. A student with health problems or an injury must have written approval from a physician before participating in extracurricular activities.
3. Students must be eligible to participate. Homework assignments must be completed. Schoolwork and behavior must be satisfactory. Studentsâ names will be submitted as ineligible on Fridays. Ineligible students will not be permitted to participate the following week.
4. Students must be in school the same day they practice or play in a game.
5. If not participating due to an injury, a student may still ride the bus to the game.
6. Students may not ride the bus to the game if not participating due to discipline.
All practices/games:
á Players must be seated in chairs when not playing
á Water bottles only, with water
á No food
á No wandering in the halls
á Respect adults and fellow teammates
á Inappropriate language is prohibited. One warning will be given;
second offense will result in removal from the team.
7. Poor sportsmanship and booing will result in suspension from games or
removal from the team.
8. Students will not play for another organization against our Edinburg School team. This does
not relate to Edinburg teams playing each other, such as our third and fourth grade teams.
